Children painting from life

The Bird Bath by Joe

Acrylic on canvas

Tahlia’s Dahlia

Acrylic on canvas

Joe aged 10 and Tahlia 7 came to visit us in our home in the bush. I encouraged them to observe the garden and choose something they wanted to paint. They observed and painted their interpretations. The canvases were small so I gave them small brushes to use. Children’s art is always so inspirational to me. Give them good materials and allow them to explore.

Joe also painted a grevillea flower from life.
